Every Don Jose location is proudly family owned and operated by the Arceo family.
Our story begins in the small town of San Diego, Quitupan, Jalisco, Mexico, where our family’s passion for authentic Mexican cuisine was born. Inspired by the traditional flavors of the region, we continue to serve many of the dishes we grew up with, including local favorites like Shrimp al Dorado and Enchiladas Suizas.
Our culinary tradition is led by our uncles, Mario and Jose Luis, two talented chefs who spent years perfecting their craft at some of the Tri-State area’s most respected Mexican restaurants before pursuing their dream of opening their own.
That dream became a reality in 1998 with the opening of our first Don Jose location in East Hanover, New Jersey. As our family grew, so did our restaurant. We opened our second location in Sebring, Florida, in 2000, followed by our Netcong, New Jersey location in 2011.
More than two decades later, our mission remains the same: to share the authentic flavors, traditions, and hospitality of our family’s hometown with every guest who walks through our doors. When you dine at Don Jose, you’re not just enjoying a meal—you’re becoming part of our family’s story.
